MUSING: On the centenary of Franz Kafka's death

Remember

Yesterday 100 years ago Franz Katka passed away, leaving a relatively small amount of work.

Even though he has been struggling with his perception of himself as a writer all his life he has become one of the most influential and respected writers of all times. I just recently read interviews with Paul Auster and Daniel Kehlmann for example in which they underline Kafka's influence on them as writers.

Another example that shows that even if we artists are insecure about our work it doesn't mean that it doesn't mean something to others.
